"Welcome to StarFell"

TPB pp. 3–30 · Saturday, October 20, 1962

Opens in deep space with Lord Byron's "Darkness" as a meteor with a pink crystal core falls to prehistoric Alabama, 60,000 years ago. Smash-cut to September 18, 1956: Levi's firefighter father Jack dies saving a baby girl from a burning building whose basement, we glimpse, bristles with meteor crystals.

Levi wakes from the recurring dream on October 20, 1962 — a perfect Saturday. Small-town warmth follows: Grandma, breakfast, Franks' Grocery, and Johnny Gale breaking Bobby Junior's jaw over a slur about his dead mother. Franks punishes Levi with the delivery nobody wants: groceries to the Voltaire estate.

At the gates of Fleur Du Ciel, Delilah Voltaire materializes — charming, omniscient, and cruel — and pulls him inside. Cliffhanger: two miles south, a fisherman singing "In the Pines" is bitten by a crystal-mutated insect and transforms into a clawed monster shambling toward town.

"Awaken a Sleeping Giant"

TPB pp. 32–55 · Cold open: October 27, 1962

Johnny leads the armed World Shakers — Levi, Miles, Dash, Kristy Leigh — through a monster-infested StarFell one week after the shockwave. Then the issue rewinds to retell October 20 from new angles.

Miles and Dr. Maitland survey the astrobleme, "one of the rarest above-ground impact craters in the world," and wire an amplifier into crystals that convert gamma waves into something else. Levi gets the Fleur Du Ciel grand tour and 150 years of Voltaire lore; Delilah snips off a lock of his hair before Lilith intervenes and the sisters tear into each other.

Miles cranks the amplifier — the crater erupts in a pink shockwave. Lilith buys Levi's silence with $50; Maitland quotes Yamamoto; Levi and Miles walk home through wreckage and drifting ghosts. "I think my dad and I happened."

Triple cliffhanger: a mud-creature seizes Dr. Maitland as the Voltaires watch from the crater rim; the "In the Pines" monster reaches a house at night; inside, little Lina Jane's scrapbook flares with pink magic.

"Day One"

TPB pp. 57–82 · Johnny Gale's October 20

The "moonshine run" the town judges Johnny for is a kindness — free whiskey for the widower Mister Charles, who gives Johnny (and the book) its heart: "All I want to do is go back in time and plow a whole damn field of flowers for her. But we can't go back, can we, Johnny?"

The Sheriff arrests Johnny for Bobby Junior's jaw just before the shockwave hits; Johnny spends the aftermath pulling survivors from rubble and is released. Bobby Junior's revenge: a bat to the skull and Johnny chained inside the Old Calaboose, StarFell's 1820 jail.

Meanwhile, night falls: the "In the Pines" monster smashes into Lina Jane's home and grabs her mother — Lina Jane's eyes blaze pink and she conjures the movie robot GROM to blast it apart.

Final cliffhanger: searching the woods for his father, Miles finds green aliens in yellow jumpsuits carrying Dr. Maitland — and Alistair Voltaire standing, walking, very much not infirm. Vines snare Miles. End of Day One.

"The Book of Delilah"

Out Now · The Story Continues Past Day One

A chapter of Delilah Voltaire's concealed past cracks open for Levi — and what spills out of that book reshapes everything he thought he knew about the family up the hill, the gates of Fleur Du Ciel, and the day his father died.

Inside the estate, the Voltaires lean hard on Dr. Maitland and Miles to harness the meteor's energy on their terms. Out on the river, Dash and Lucas Jackson come face to face with a fearsome, frog-legged silhouette pulling itself onto dry land — Fat Lance is walking.

The first issue after Day One. The arc widens.
